Safety investigation (STC11)

Context 
Because of the focus in multiple safety sensitive industries to improve safety through accident  prevention there is an increasing need for well trained and qualified safety investigators to help  during official investigations as well as to perform internal investigations. 
This course provides the training and the knowledge to succeed in the safety investigation profession by focussing on the core areas of knowledge and training required in investigation processes.

Training objectives

  • Describing the processes underlying the  management of safety. 
  • Explaining the concepts of human factors in an organisation operating in a safety sensitive industry. 
  • Describing the importance of safety reporting programmes for internal safety investigations. 
  • Outlining the role that should be played when assisting in the investigation of an accident or serious incident.
