Context
Air operators are required to produce and keep up to date minimum equipment lists (MEL) as well as to train ground personnel and crew members on the correct use of MELs.
This course offers participants the opportunity to familiarise with legislation concerning MELs and understanding MELs for use in day-to-day operations.

- Extent, scope, and use of the MEL.
- Placarding of inoperative equipment.
- Deferral procedures.
- Dispatching.
- Air operator’s MEL related procedures.
- Elementary maintenance procedures in accordance with Commission Regulation (EC) No 1321/2014.
- Pilot-in-command/commander responsibilities.
Training objectives
- Learning to interpret a MEL.
- Applying MEL related procedures.
Administration
- Duration: 2 days initial/1 day recurrent.
