Context
Aircraft ground damage, particularly in view of the airline industry’s thin profit margin, is a significant financial, operational and safety issue. Ramp accidents have consequences on airport operations, result in personnel injuries and damage aircraft, facilities, and ground-support equipment.
This training fosters the appreciation of safety management tools and methods specifically developed to improve ground handling safety to improve the safety performance of airline ground operations.
Improving the safety of operations on the ramp is of paramount importance, also in the perspective of improving efficiency.

Training items

  • (Lack of) regulatory requirements.
  • Airside driving.
  • Human factors training for aircraft ground handling.
  • Task and organisation analysis of aircraft ground handling.
  • Ramp line operations safety assessment (R-LOSA).
  • Managing insurance claims.

Training objectives

  • Familiarisation with typical hazards during airline ground operations and with targeted ways to address them.
  • Ability to develop a safety culture in the ground handling environment.
